I need some advice. I am a newbie to the Savage and I just bought a used 1995 Savage from a dealer that does not care to give showroom space to used bikes. It sat in a chain link lockup in the weather for 2 months and needs some serious chrome polishing. The previous owner may have lived near the ocean as well. What is that special chemical/product and pad/steel wool, etc. that you recommend for cleaning the chrome. The muffler and header pipe is too far gone, but I think that the rest of the chrome will clean up fairly well. I am considering having the header pipe re-chromed and replacing the muffler with a Supertrapp. If anybody knows a good chroming vendor in Southern California, please let me know or if anybody has a used header pipe for sale, please let me know.
